Greetings, this is the producer of hikingohioparks.com Greg Wood. It's been a great start for hikingohioparks.com. I just got back from a great hiking adverture in Ithaca New York where I experienced an awsome repertoire of waterfalls and the beautiful Cornell Plantations containing botanical collections and a arboretum. Starting with the Robert Treman State park, I couldn't believe how mother nature awsomatized me with her dazzling display of moving water. She produced waterfalls almost arount every bend. It was highlighted by the 115 foot Lucifer falls. The flowing and churning eddies of water fill the many finger lake parks with a powerful continuous roar like no other place I've been before. I then went to Buttermilk Falls State Park. Wow what at wide and milky waterfalls. You could stay there all day staring at that waterfall. The gorge trails and rim trails allow numerous waterfall views through the great mature forests. All of the Spring time birds can be heard echoing the massive forest. For them there is bountiful food all around. Everywhere I looked, there was another new beautiful and unique waterfall and forest to store in memory. These parks where formed by millions of years of glacier and water flows. The last glacier moved out about 10,000 years ago. I then went to the great 215 foot Taughannock Falls state park. Wow was I totally glad I was there. This waterfall was the biggest falls east of the rockies. I couldn't help but hike up to its dangerous flow. The winds created the Taughannock Falls were tremendous and threatened to blow me down while I was filming it. That was THE most refreshing water experience I've ever had. It was a dream come true to met this honorable falls. I felt like I was part of the falls as it blew a fierce wind and streaming water at me. I know I'll have to go back to this place. What an awsome place to experience. You'll love Taughannock Falls State Park. I then finished my hike at Watkins Glen State Park. Glen comes from an old Greek word meaning small narrow secluded valley. But size doesn't slow down the continous fall activity. It surrounds me everywhere once again. I highly recommend the Ithaca Falls finger lake state parks near Cornell university. I hope to come back sometime to experience refreshing waterfalls in mother nature's natural showers.
